football mom 7/6/2010 10:12 AM 7121 | Re: Closed Practices I am assuming you mean closed practices as in parents are not allowed to view. I am not aware of all teams rules, but I would have to say this is not the normal, and I would be very very concerned if an area was telling parents they could not view the practices. It is your job as a parent to protect your children and it is always a good idea to view several practices and drop in at anytime to make sure that kids are being treated fairly and that your child is being properly hydrated during practices. It is also encouraged so that when your son or daughter complaines about something you are able to observe so that you get a perspective from both sides - regardless my son has been in this league for 4 yrs and we have always been encouraged by the coaches to watch practices and I would be very weary if I was told the practice was closed.... |

Something seems very wrong here....If you don't want to explain it here at least send a message to the League leadership because I think someone is doing something wrong or inaapropriate at least. |
football dad/coach 7/25/2010 09:19 PM 7204 | Re: Closed Practices I think it would concern me too as a parent also. As a coach I would rather have parents there, one sometimes we might need and extra hand, or if a child gets hurt we have mom or dad right there. And heck I can see maybe telling the parents to keep some distance to let me be a coach and coach my team but to tell a parent he or she cant watch is flat out wrong. |
