Are players allowed to use mouthguards that have the quick release straps or do the straps have to be permanently affixed to the guard? |

YES --- Mouthguards that otherwise meet NOCSAE and MHSAA requirments with quick release strap are OK. The requirement for the strap to attach to the helmets is an MMRFL requirement and does not restrict type of strap.
Keep in mind when getting mouthguards that they can not be All WHITE or CLEAR and must cover from back molar to opposite back molar. |

Yes the strap has to be permanently attached, my sons first year we found out the hard way, in the beginning of our first game and he had to wear an un-molded mouth piece supplied by our team. Be careful of the color as well. No white, red or clear mouth pieces are allowed, just FYI. Have a great season....And good luck!!! |

Thanks for the correction, i did not realize that, must just be our programs own rule. They say they look too much like a player has a bloody mouth of some sort... have a great season!!!! |
